SDFlash Utility

Description
SDFlash is a Windows GUI based utility that allows the user to flash program a DSP Target using a Spectrum Digital JTAG Emulator. Each target requires Flash programming algorithms specific to that specific DSP and the Flash memory on that board.

Installation
Two parts are required in the SDFlash installation; (a)SDFlash GUI, (b)Device specific flashing algorithms.

1. SDFlash is distributed as component of the standard Spectrum Digital Emulation drivers. This is the same emulation driver installation that is used to support Code Composer Studio. If a current release of Spectrum Digital emulation drivers is already installed, only the flashing algorithms are required to finish the installation. If an old version of SDFlash or our emulation drivers is currently installed, un-install the older version, then install the latest drivers.
2. Use the table below to locate the flashing algortithms that best suit the target system that will be programmed. Download the algorithms and install (or unzip) thim to the SDFlash\myprojects directory shown below:
   
   -CCS v3.3 directory:   C:\CCStudio_v3.3\specdig\SDFlash\myprojects
   -CCS v4.x directory:   C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\emulation\specdig\sdflash\myprojects
   
   * These are the default Code Composer Studio install directories, modify the path to match your instal Directory if it is different

3. Once the driver installation has completed, there will be a blue, square icon on the desktop titled 'SDFlash'. The SDFlash Utility can be launched from this icon. If the icon is not present, then the SDFlash can be launched from the SDFlash.exe located in the install directory as follows:
   
   -CCS v3.3 directory:   C:\CCStudio_v3.3\specdig\SDFlash\bin
   -CCS v4.x directory:   C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\emulation\specdig\sdflash\bin
